Nicole + Andy...sneak peak

We met Nicole a few years ago when we put out a Craigslist ad for pinup-style models. She's wasn't a pinup or a model, but no one could tell. Her session is still one of our most memorable.

So, we were beyond excited to hear that Nicole was marrying her best friend, Andy. People use that phrase all the time, but it's really true here.  You best friend is the person you can be silly and yourself with. Here's a frame from their engagement session...We call it "Love and Lashes"

E.A.S.T. 2012: Portrait Preview

For our third go around in the East Austin Studio Tour, we wanted to try something new. Instead of showing photo art, we wanted to make art. The first year we featured our couple and wedding work. Last year, the Cathedral of Junk canvases pieces were the star of the show. This year we are concentrating on the power of a portrait. Not everyone takes them, but everyone should.

The studio tours are a chance for artists to open their doors, so we opened our workspace (a backdrop) to artists and visitors alike.  Here's a preview. You can follow the process on instagram at number9photos.

Vintage Villas Wedding: Michelle + Jake

Married September 2012, Michelle and Jake took a leap of faith, and let us try something different at their wedding. Instead of a first look outdoors, we convinced them to do their pictures in the empty ballroom for a more intimate atmosphere. We're so glad they trusted us, because the privacy was priceless. We hope you enjoy their kazoos, gloves, patterns, petals, cigars, toasts and dancing. As you view the pics, play the kazoo version of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" in you head.
